IABC Canada Master Communicators Announced

CHICAGO – February 28, 2024 – Yesterday, the IABC Canada Master Communicator Selection Committee announced the 2024 class of Master Communicators:

  • Paula Bernardino, MCM, CSR-P, SCMP, MC
  • Brent Carey, ABC, MC
  • Marie-Soleil Pepin, MBA, SCMP, MC
  • Sue Ridewood, ABC, MC

Paula and Marie-Soleil are members of the Quebec chapter, Brent is a member of the IABC Toronto chapter, and Sue is a member of the IABC Calgary chapter. Each of this year’s successful nominees has demonstrated significant contributions to the profession over decades of service to their employers, clients and colleagues.

Their leadership and generosity have supported individuals in their career journeys, and helped the profession grow.

“The Master Communicator designation represents an acknowledgement that an individual has contributed to the profession and IABC in meaningful ways; has helped to uplift individuals through teaching or mentoring, and has been a thought-leader in the field of communications,” said committee chair Sue Heuman, ABC, MC, IABC Fellow.

IABC Canada recognizes excellence in the communication profession each year with its signature Master Communicator program.

“It’s a high standard that few have achieved in the last 40+ years,” Heuman added. “Warm congratulations to each new Master Communicator.”

This is a highly coveted and prestigious honour: with this year’s class, only 65 communication professionals have received the Master Communicator designation in the 44-year history of the award.
