2021 Region Leader of the Year: Catherine Ducharme, CLC, ACC
Catherine Ducharme, CLC, ACC was the 2020-2021 Past Chair of the IABC Canada West Region. Catherine was recognized by her peers for her leadership and mentorship that she provides to members in the Canada West Region and throughout IABC. Catherine's exceptional ability to build and encourage connections has been vital in fostering effective collaborating in the Canada West region. Catherine is a champion of IABC and the profession. 2021 Chapter Leaders of the Year: Jackiedra Wilson, MSOL and Kieran McCann
Jackiedra Wilson, MSOL was the President of the IABC Greater Cincinnati chapter during the 2019-2021 term. Jackiedra was nominated by her peers for her innovative leadership of their small chapter and building diversity, equity, and inclusion in the chapters programs and materials. Jackiedra led the chapter to have a full slate of relevant and interactive programs throughout 2020, helping to fuel the chapters energy during a challenging year. Way to go, Jackiedra!
Kieran McCann was the President of the IABC New South Wales chapter during the 2019-2021 term. Kieran has been instrumental to IABC NSW's stabilization and growth, including a 40% increase in event attendance. Kieran addressed the membership experience, which the chapter measures via Net Promoter Score. He led the board on being member-centric, building trust, and growing the chapter through engagement and value, which resulted in a 40 point uplift in NPS. Congratulations, Kieran!
2021 Rising Leaders of the Year: Carmen Wright and Michael Blackburn
Carmen Wright was the 2020-2021 Vice President of Finance for the IABC British Columbia Chapter. Carmen brought an innovative approach to financial management into the chapter that enabled quicker reimbursement, better accounting, and more accurate reporting. Carmen has simplified the chapter's finance reporting which empowered the board to make informed decisions in a year with uncertainty. Congratulations, Carmen!
Michael Blackburn was the VP of Ovation Awards for the IABC Toronto chapter during the 2020-2021 term. Michael led the chapter through their first-ever virtual awards gala, and implemented diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility into the program space. Michael aligned the awards program to the Silver Leaf and Gold Quill Awards programs. The creative work and communications that Michael implemented increased brand awareness and raised the level of prestige for this outstanding event. IABC Topeka had the highest total score of CMA entries in 2021, making them the 2021 Small Chapter of the Year. IABC Topeka received Awards of Excellence in the categories of Chapter Events and Professional Development.

In 2021, IABC New South Wales (NSW) received Awards of Excellence in the categories of Chapter Innovation and Membership Marketing. The total score of their winning entries, earned them recognition as the 2021 Medium Chapter of the Year.
2021 Large Chapter of the Year: IABC Toronto
IABC Toronto received Awards of Excellence in the categories of Chapter Events, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Membership Marketing, and Professional Development. The chapter received an Award of Merit in the category of Volunteer Engagement and Leadership Development. The total score of winning entries earned them the award of 2021 Large Chapter of the Year, in addition to the 2021 International Chapter of the Year.
